Trip & Usage Data

  • Pick-up and drop-off locations, route taken, and trip duration.
  • Timestamps of trip requests, acceptances, and completions.
  • In-app actions, feature usage patterns, and session data.
  • Ratings and reviews submitted after trips.
  • Communications sent through the in-app messaging system.

Device & Technical Data

  • Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
  • IP address, browser type, and language settings.
  • App version, crash logs, and performance metrics.
  • Network connection type and carrier information.

Identity Verification

  • Government-issued identification documents.
  • Selfie photographs for identity matching (Drivers).
  • Background check results (processed by authorized third-party providers).

Location Data

Location data is fundamental to how GoCarriage works. Without it, we cannot match Drivers with Passengers, provide navigation, or enable safety features.

What We Collect

  • Precise GPS coordinates when the app is in use.
  • Background location data when a trip is active (with your permission).
  • Approximate location derived from IP address when GPS is unavailable.
  • Location history associated with completed trips.

How We Use Location Data

  • To match Passengers with nearby available Drivers.
  • To provide turn-by-turn navigation during trips.
  • To calculate accurate fare estimates and final charges.
  • To enable real-time trip sharing with trusted contacts.
  • To respond to emergency SOS requests with precise location.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent trip manipulations.

Managing Location Permissions: You can manage location permissions through your device settings. Restricting location access while the app is in the background may limit certain features. We recommend enabling location access for the best experience.

Between Drivers and Passengers

To facilitate trips, we share limited information between matched Drivers and Passengers. Passengers receive the Driver's first name, photo, vehicle details, and real-time location during the trip. Drivers receive the Passenger's first name and pick-up location.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating the Platform, including payment processors, cloud storage providers, identity verification services, mapping and navigation providers, and customer support tools. All providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Legal & Regulatory Disclosure

We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety or rights of GoCarriage users or the public.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform of any such change in ownership or control.
